The Hotel itself was beautiful. I had my reservations with it being a pub as well. I needn't have worried the rooms were well away from the bar area. I was surprised at how big it was, lt had lots of different rooms you could sit in The bar itself was very superior to any bar I'd been in before, decor was lovely. The staff were really friendly & helpful. The food was delicious with good quality ingredients. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. We paid for bed, breakfast & evening meal with a generous allowance form the menu. The menu wasn't your traditional pub grub & had excellent choices. The location was very central with a 2 minute walk to the centre of Harrogate & Bettys tea room.

We were upgraded to a penthouse suite which was a spacious lovely room over 2 levels. It was tastefully furnished with a great shower and comfy bed. Would highly recommend this room. Easy walking distance to Harrogate town centre and all its attractions. Great vibe in the outside bar but it closed early enough to not disturb your sleep

The atmosphere and staff were great…..friendly and very helpful. We had breakfast each morning and dinner both nights. It was lovely to have food made to order rather than a self service/buffet style breakfast. Dinner was lovely too and very tasty.

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.
The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.
One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.
Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.
Options on Booking.com include 5-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments near the train station, and guest houses with parking. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport to the south.
Most of all, the friendliness and kindness of the locals.
Most of all, the friendliness and kindness of the locals. It has lovely green spaces and parks, interesting and historic buildings (The Royal Hall is particularly magnificent). Great food - we ate dinner at our hotel, The Crown, and The Cattlemen's, and Gianni's - all were excellent. Good for shopping - individual speciality shops such as Woods of Harrogate, and Duttons, being two I sought out as their high quality goods and extensive range are not easy to find even in the vastness of London; as well as the usual high street chains. Close to Knaresborough, Ripon, the dales, and much more we didn't have time to visit. We'll just have to go again.

This was my first trip to Harrogate and it did not disappoint me. Having been to York many times which I thought was a wonderful place to stay, I am now sold on Harrogate. It really is quite unique with all its green and beautifully maintained open spaces, yet there were so many lovely bars, restaurants and gorgeous boutiques to wander round it was a fantastic experience all round. I shall definitely be returning soon with the bonus of being able to go to York for a day whilst there.

We chose Harrogate as a hub for making other local visits but was worth a longer stay. Good range of shops, extensive green parklands and a range of top restaurants. Taverna, a Greek restaurant, was particularly good; warm welcome, friendly staff and excellent food well presented.
Everything was an easy walk from our accommodation, but Harrogate is ideally placed to get to Leeds, York and local countryside.
Our age precludes us from commenting on facilities fore the young, but there were plenty of younger folk clearly having a good time!
Beautiful town… definitely recommend Harry’s walking tour. (Free and very entertaining and informative) we have a tip at the end of it.
Felt safe, lots of restaurants, shops and history. The valley gardens were fabulous too.

Harrogate is lovely and our only regrets were the food on offer in the hotel restaurant plus the attempt to rip me off when the bill came. And we would have liked a bit more time so as to visit Bettys tea shop
The room was clean and had two easy chairs, and there was a beautiful view from the windows. There was a DVD player incorporated into the TV. The bathroom and shower were good. The staff at reception was pleasant. The hotel was well situated in the centre of Harrogate, close to many pubs and restaurant. It was worth spending £15 a day on parking, as the surrounding area is short of available parking spaces. There was some traffic noise, but this was to be expected in the centre. It's a nice hotel, and I would stay there again.
The room was superb. it had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were available instantly at any time.
The proprietor went the extra few miles for me as I had a flat Tyre and he basically saved the day and made such an effort to help us out of a situation on a Sunday morning. But the hotel itself was clean, tidy and excellent to stay in. If we return to Harrogate we would be here again with out question.
Everything about the hotel was really good for me, the parking at the rear (£10 a day) is very good, the food both breakfast and dinner plus very good value for money, it’s location is right across from the exhibition centre and it’s central for most attractions in Harrogate plus the staff were ever so helpful and attentive it’s a 10 all round for me.
The hotel is in a great location near the centre of Harrogate, plenty to do nearby that’s only a short walk away. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was well presented with a comfy bed, tasteful decor and provided Yorkshire gold teabags, the TV was in good working order and the WiFi was decent.
Staff were amazing; friendly, kind and very welcoming. Public areas were very welcoming and cosy. Lively atmosphere in the evening without being too noisy. Breakfast was good, cooked to order and surprisingly varied for a small hotel. Good range of beers and branded spirits.
The hotel was beautiful & had great views of Harrogate so pretty & central to everything. The bed was super comfortable & everything was kept clean. The breakfast buffet was super delicious! Thanks for an amazing hotel experience!
The staff are very helpful. Although the hotel looks old, it's surprisingly clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, very near to the city center. I'll definitely stay here if I ever come to Harrogate again.
The cleanliness of the hotel and the nicely decorated room.
The shower was so easy to use.
The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the centre of Harrogate.
We would highly recommend the Grafton.
A stone's throw from Harrogate's town centre, this lovely quaint hotel offered a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The staff were attentive and they served a great breakfast in the morning.
The location of the property was good. You could walk to town and it was pretty quiet. Parking was ok, not assigned but there was always a spot. The size and price was good for Harrogate.
The location. Harrogate is a wonderful town and the location was very close to the town center, as well as other beautiful places to explore such as National trust properties.
Super hotel located in the centre of Harrogate. Excellent breakfast. Clearly popular. Friendly atmosphere. Good parking. Big comfortable bed. Good value for money.
10 min walk to the centre of Harrogate from the hotel. Quite surroundings, friendly staff. The hotel will be excellent when the refurbishments are all completed.
The hotel was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you. There was a good choice for breakfast. I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.
