Such a friendly and thoughtful host, easy stress free check in and delighted to enter a beautiful cosy house. Big Asda next door and close to train station bus routes to Barnard and Darlington etc. The bishop shops as well. Libraries. And more. Was really nice to chill and had good sleep. Be back again soon.

Was travel back home after being in scotland, was a perfect place to stay . Absolutely beautiful pod ! Everything you could possibly need, we had a takeaway but the kitchen is equipped with everything you would need , even milk , tea and coffee .
Spotlessly clean , the pods and the site are kept to a excellent standard.
The communication from the staff is excellent, got all the checking in information in advance , I had a few questions and these were answered quickly and nothing seem like to.much effort.
The cafe is lovely too . We had breakfast here , don't forget to say you are staying and
Secure parking through a barrier, the parking isnt directly at the pods but its a 30 second walk to the pods . you get 10% off . The views are breathtaking. Would definitely stay again

Excellent accommodation - clean and spacious. Within easy walking distance of the town centre, deer park and castle. Directly opposite the venue where we were attending a family party. Lots to explore locally by car also.
Hassle free booking and stay, plus speedy response to messages.o
Would definitely recommend and use again.

The Auckland project venues ( Auckland castle and walled garden, deer park, Mining museum, Faith museum, Spanish gallery all worth visiting. Conveniently near each other. Walking distance. Plenty car parking. Poor shopping outlets. Limited choice of restaurants, not always open. Several takeaways. Wetherspoins very popular.

Parts of Bishop Auckland are a little 'scruffy', quite a few empty shops in the town, although there are the usual supermarkets etc in the out-of-town shopping centres.
Auckland Castle and museums were very interesting. The guides in Auckland Castle were knowledgeable and very happy to show off everything there. The gardens will be stunning once they mature a little.

Bishop Auckland is undergoing great renovations.
Bishop Auckland is undergoing great renovations. Though the main street has some way to go, the Market Square and Bishops Palace area is really attractive. The Castle (Bishop's Palace), Mining Art Gallery and Spanish Gallery are full of interest, well worth the entry fee (book annual pass online for best value). The best thing was the friendliness of the people we met, both as knowledgeable guides in the attractions and welcoming locals in the pubs and restaurants.

Bishop Auckland is being regenerated.
Bishop Auckland is being regenerated. Around the market place is gorgeous. Auckland Castle is beautiful with a fabulous coffee shop. We went to the Kynren Festival. It was outstanding, like nothing we’ve seen before. Would highly recommend it.

Badly signposted, the woman on Receptionist was incredibly rude. The room I booked didn't have a bath as I had requested, the second room which I was moved to did have a bath but it didn't work, the 3rd room which I stayed in was freezing cold and the bed covers were thin. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was the worst I have ever experienced. The breakfast looked like something you would get in an NHS Hospital. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in
The room was lovely although the bathroom was a bit awkward, with a tiny area around the basin. We had dinner there one night and the service was very slow , over an hour for pasta, although most people seemed to have already eaten when we ordered. Breakfast was good, freshly cooked and generous portions. Staff very friendly. A good location for visiting Bishop Auckland, and the little Saxon church is well worth a visit
Great central location in Bishop Auckland. Ideal base for exploring the North East. Lovely clean property with great facilities and everything provided that you might need. Nice and roomy, it was just my partner and I but would comfortably accommodate a family. Quiet area and easy to park on the street. Great contact throughout from host who was very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.
Locarion was very central. Bedrooms were cosy as described but there was plenty of room. Large lounge and bathroom and the kitchen was more than adequate for our needs. Was impressed by the cleanliness. The hosts provided accurate and useful information. Would definately go back if we are in the area again.
Ideal location for visiting the museums in Bishop Auckland though their prices are expensive compared to the other towns.!! It's not too far to travel to Spennymoor, Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum or Binchester Roman Fort. Some wonderful countryside. Handy having Morrisons supermarket a 5 minute walk away.
Beautifully decorated and really comfortable setting. The staff were delightful and very helpful. Check in and out was very simple and I was made to feel welcome instantly and for my entire stay. This trip was solo for business. I will be returning with my partner in the near future.
A wonderful hotel that is really haunted.
Absolutely great staff, particularly the receptionist and also manager was really friendly. He has only been there y weeks.
A lovely room and a tasty breakfast.
A fantastic hotel, well worth a visit. It is so so old, with so much history.
Very nicely refurbished flat and gave us a base to visit the area. The Auckland project is excellent and Locomotion at Shildon very good. Easy to get there by train and easy to walk around. Very thoughtful owners had left snacks and lots of useful things.
The owner Sean was welcoming from the start
Nothing was too much trouble
I had the double room with en suite
Parking permit was a godsend as most big hotels charge you for parking as well !!
Will be returning next year
Excellent value for money
Home from home. Fresh bread, milk and cereals left which was a nice touch. Lovely, spacious, clean and cheaper than the big chain hotel ours friends were in around the corner. Great location for a quick trip to the beach and hackworth park.
Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful location and great for a peaceful stay. Breakfast was good - menu had a good selection, we wanted a more simple choice and they were happy to accomodate us.
Great value and a lovely location, definitely a great alternative to hotels that I usually stay in on business travel. Really spacious and had everything I needed.
The apartment had everything we required for an overnight.
Appreciated the extras, milk, bread, toiletries.
Handy spot for finding our way around the town.
